Many older people live alone, their family having long left the area, in dealing with the local council or health service, they often find it difficult to communicate their concerns and turn to us in distress for support… yet we know, given the support they are very capable of asserting their rights and asking for what they need. It is with this in mind that we feel an advocacy service is what is most critically needed here.

We will work with vulnerable older people, on their behalf, aiding in the satisfactory resolution of problems requiring trained help, giving a voice to their concerns and filling the breach between statutory requirements of care and the support ordinarily regarded as provided by close friends and family.
