bibic currently works throughout the UK supporting families with children suffering from sensory, neurologicval and behavioural conditions. We have been successful at showing families what can be doen and not focussing on what can not be done. We are very practical in our suport. Our National assessment Centre is in the West Country and we need to make our service more accessible to those families travelling from South and West Wales by employing an outreach worker in their own communities.

    Situation

We want to set up a three person outreach service across South and West Wales to work with families in their own communities and for whom isolation is normal. Theri children have conditions which preclude them from obtaining a babysitter or to mix with school activities or other community activities. The families feel excluded and left out of contributing to the general worth of their community. The three outworkers would be based at home and seek out hard to reach communities and families as well as provide a support for those families already accessing bibic but who would not now need to fund the travel to Somerset.
