The St Basils Big SleepOut

To bring people together from all walks of life and different backgrounds in one common goal; to help prevent youth homelessness. The Big SleepOut invites business, youth groups, individuals and families to get sponsorship for 'rough it' for a night, outside, in a cardboard box, leading up to Xmas.

The cycle of youth homelessness for 16 to 25 young men and woman in the West Midlands. The three main areas that face young homeless people are; appropriate and safe housing, a lack of necessary skills to progress in life including holding down independent accommodation and a lack of knowledge about how to address certain issues that could lead to homelessness.


The Big SleepOut increases the awareness of the issue of youth homelessness and helps raise money to support the work St Basils does, which includes; providing accommodation for over 400 young men and women every night, housing support workers engaging with very damaged young people, offering the opportunity for life skills training, encouraging young people to engage with employers, helping them throughout the whole resettlement process and providing a region wide prevention serv
