    Situation

The Care Home Advocacy Service aims will be to listen, inform, support and enable older people in care homes to make informed decisions. By offering an independent service that can assess a situation and provide the older person with options and information on their rights. In addition the Service will provide support and practical help in resolving issues of concern to older people, thereby improving their situation and quality of life. Evidence has shown that older people can be unhappy in their care home, which can result in them wanting to move. This situation could often have been avoided with some early intervention/advocacy. Or in an untenable situation, the older person will be in need of practical help to find alternative accommodation.
