    Situation

Education in Sierra Leone is not free because you have to buy everything- fees, uniform, books, sports gear, lunch. Many children are forced into child labour as they cannot afford to go to school. This project sends 40 children to school ranging from primary to secondary. We pay for everything including the fees, books, uniform, shoes and help the guardians so there is food on the table for the children. We have a project officer in Waterloo, Sierra Leone, who monitors the scheme and helps the children. This year it has cost us £4900. The community of Waterloo would like to increase the number of children and possibly look at university.
