Gainsborough's House is the birthplace museum of Thomas Gainsborough. The House is of historic interest and contains some unusual architectural features. We also display period furniture including Thomas Gainsborough’s Studio Cabinet. The building dates from medieval times and is Grade I listed, retaining much of its original character. The House and its domestic atmosphere, provides an ideal setting for our visitors to enjoy the display of the collection. We have a 10 yr maintenance plan to conserve the building for future generations.
