In August 2015, Cerebral Palsy Sport will be hosting the CPISRA World Games in Nottingham. Young disabled athletes will be representing Team CP England but to do so they will be asked to raise their own funds to participate in the Games. With people with disabilities often being socially excluded and economically disadvantaged, this project will help to remove financial barriers so young people can focus on representing their country and perform to the best of their ability.
Sport brings people together on an equal basis to enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of participating in sport. Cerebral Palsy Sport want to create a Team CP England Bursary Fund. The fund will help young athletes and their families overcome any financial hardship they may face in the build-up and during the CPISRA 2015 World Games. The fund will support cerebral palsy athletes with the costs of training, travel, accommodation and subsistence.
