    Situation

Using our unique, portable workshop space in areas identified as highly populated and under-resourced or ill-equipped, we will offer a choice of free, safe, out of school activities for disadvantaged children and young people during school holidays. We aim to increase access to, and the functionality of, underused green spaces, avoiding duplication by adding to planned local authority delivery. We aim to deliver free play days and projects across the West Yorkshire Region. Each project will be tailored to the local community’s needs using current & developing local resources. Inside and outside Space to Create, staff will facilitate positive and creative activities for young people and their families. Workshops will happen throughout the day as drop in sessions. Alongside these family events, we will also provide training for young people and local residents, where they will learn the skills to develop similar future community events and activities for children in their area. Each series of projects will culminate in an event day for each of the areas, involving local agencies and adult volunteers working together with young people.
