    Situation

The project currently runs two short stay homes for boys and girls which support the mainstreaming and family reintegration schemes. Most of the children attending are entered into formal schools or vocational training. Children are contacted through outreach and referrals from local stakeholders such as the Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Protection Force & vendors. During the past year Conc’rn has reached out to 349 children at New Jalpaiguri station, who have received shelter, food, education, and counselling. 50 of these children have been reunited with their families. Conc'rn want to strengthen the existing model of early intervention and family reunification by increasing the level of outreach through creative methods and increasing staff levels. They are working towards building capacity at the short stay homes to ensure more children are offered services
