    Situation

Our Family Support Teams help families to deal with the unimaginable trauma of living with a child with a terminal illness by assisting them with their daily routines and activities. This enables families to continue their regular daily life as much as possible, taking some of the strain off of the family, with the aim of maintaining the family unit as far as possible. Our hands-on practical support includes help with hospital visits, caring for siblings, undertaking household duties, and in some cases, assisting with the funeral arrangements. We also provide a trained listening and sympathetic ear to all family members. Family support workers provide 24-hour crisis support during the final stages of the child’s illness. It costs over £100,000 to run each team.
