Situation
The village hall trust acquired a collection of several hundred old postcards from Bacton, as well as other material - copies of legal documents, newspaper articles and personal stories, to be held by the trust on behalf of everybody in the village. It is our aim to spread the knowledge about Bacton's past, people, buildings, families etc., via the establishment of a History Group (happened Aug 2009), continuing to acquire material through members' research, establish an archive and produce some of the material in a suitable form for publication or exhibition. This could include the production of a book and/or DVD, but primarily the enlarging and mounting of texts and photos to A3 format, as the basis of an exhibition. Production costs for 12 A3 photos and 6 A3 boards of text, printing of 1000 pamphlets for visitors to take away, the acquisition of a laptop and data projector.
