To update our website to make it more attractive and relevant. A major proportion of our referrals come via our website. It was ‘state of the art’ when it was set up eight years ago, but now it is outdated, clunky and dour and has little interactivity. Despite shortcomings, it is still well-used. We are currently undertaking a survey of views of the website and preliminary conclusions suggest it needs: Separate sections for different stakeholders, reflecting their needs A clearer brief, reflecting all Peach corporate objectives More interactivity, for example videos of children and parents; podcasts; articles and newsletters, illustrating our work A better search engine facility The ability to become a member and get information on-line

    Situation

70% of referrals come via our website. It has not been updated for eight years. At the moment it gives good basic information to families who have achild with autism, but in an old fashioned way. It needs to reflect the needs of those who use it. We would like to add video showing the work we do with children. We would also like a chat room to further enhance the parent to parent support we currently offer. We would also like to be able to offer parents the chance to join as members on line and make donations on line The cost of new website is estimated between £5,000 and £8,000. This for a complte redisn and new mangement system. Peach is dynmic and innovative organistaion but that is not currently reflecte din teh website. Families need a reason to return to the site rather than it being a one stop shop
