Ben Nevis Challenge is a brand new event aimed at raising awareness of, and funds for, our Lifestyle Management Programme. Please support our 27 participants as they conquer the UK's highest peak to raise a target of £5,000. All money raised will go towards the development of this ground-breaking programme tailored to people living with long term health conditions. Focusing on the solution rather than the problem, the programme is completely free of charge and consists of ten weekly group sessions. Designed to support people living with conditions such as Parkinson’s, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression, the programme is also beneficial as part of cardiac rehabilitation following heart surgery or a heart attack. Presented by trained course facilitators, some of whom have come through the programme themselves, the sessions involve discussions, exercise and therapeutic relaxation. All of this takes place within local community settings, encouraging the development of a strong support network that can be revisited even after the course is over. The Lifestyle Management Programme focuses on building confidence, boosting self esteem and encouraging self-management, and it also has the benefit of The Thistle Foundation’s supportive environment. Your support today will help Thistle to develop these life-changing courses so that more people can access them. The more money we raise, the more research and development we can implement to reach even more people living with long term health conditions across Scotland. As these courses are free of charge, we have to fundraise for the continuous development of the programme. We have to cover a variety of costs such as production of course materials, volunteer reimbursement and the hiring of venues where necessary. So please support our Ben Nevis Challenge to help us develop these life changing courses.
