Malaria is the biggest killer in Mgongeni. It attacks people of all ages It dessimates family. Sufferers are unable to work for long periods, children, children go hungry, many leave school because they cannot paty the fees. Only 4% of families have mosquito nets. We need 3000 nets.

Situation
There are two problems; To provide every family with a fully treated mosquito net. To drain as many of the pools of stagnant ater as possible and p[revent flooding in the rainy season. Spray the ares of stagnant where the mosquitos breed in their millions so that the larvae cannot hatch
Solution
The nets will protect the whole familiy from being bitten by disease carrying mosuqitoes. most families live a single room and share a big bed so that all can easily be peotected. Large areas of Mgongeni flood up to 3ft deep in the rainy season leaving large pools of polluted water, perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes. By continually treating these fewer and fewer mosquitos will hatch and the threat will reduce. It is hoped that the insects can be erradicated totally from the community.
