    Situation

There are nearly 400,000 refugees living in camps in Kenya. Nearly all lack the ability to communicate in English or Swahili, the languages of Kenya. As a result they are unable to play an active role within the camp, to engage with the authorities adn providers of services and to communicate with refugees from other nationalities. This lack undermines the smooth operation of the camps and prevents refugees making good use of their time in exile

    Solution

Our intensive English programmes delivered at basic, intermediate and advanced levels will provide refugees with the necessary language skillsto enable to them to access services, engage in community work and employment and access education and training. This will overcome the problems and will give each refugee a very valuable life skill for the long term.
