We aim to build primary schools in deprived rural areas in order to give local children the opportunity to get a basic education and gain hope. Schools are built for communities which are too far away from a government school to travel there each day. The cost of lodgings bars entry to school.

Situation

Children in these areas are being deprived of basic educatin because the are too far from the nearest local school to travel there and back each day. the cost of lodgings is too much for the parents. children are kept at home. Secondly, sending small children away to school has its own problems. Local schools bring local benefits and build hope for a better future. Local schools help create local identity and improve the cohesion of the locality.

Solution

These small schools have two classrooms. This means that classes are not affected by the dust, when the wind blows, when it rains. Each school take up to 100 students each year. Children finishing the primary stage can move on to secondary education. Young girls have access to basic education, giving them the chance to be treated more equally. The village or community gets a school. the school brings a sense of community pride and identity and a start is made in eliminating poverty.
