Situation

Most of our service users do not have access to a safe outside space with most living on council estates. Our client group often experience severe and enduring mental health problems, including extended stays in psychiatric units with little access to outside space.

Solution

By creating an outdoor space. We want to create ownership of the space with active real involvement in planning, design and build. It will promote sustainability and real involvement with our service users in creating and maintaining this unique space. Many of our service users have already been involved in early planning and design stages of this project and have already reported an increase in confidence, experienced an increased sense of hope and excitement.
