We aim to work with liberal academics, progressive groups and communication experts to build a socially progressive discourse and language. We will also look at potential partnerships with other organizations working in this field.

Situation
We are part of a group of NGOs who are looking at ‘deep frame’ (fundamental value) work aimed at supporting values which show respect for the environment and others and curtailing those values in our society which are materialistic and exploitative. As part of the DEFRA bid we have created a working group of academics and other experts working on ‘frames’ for the TU movement which will mobilize members of the unions concerned. We intend to extend this work through a wide forum for progressive framing on climate change. We think this approach should be extended to look at frames for a progressive, optimistic and confident discourse around climate change rather than the current apocalyptic one
