    Situation

The current proposals for the PWC will see it sited at an urban nature reserve, with excellent educational and visitor facilities. Light pipes and diffuse heating from a nearby lake will mnimise the carbon footprint as well as more conventional PV and wind generation. Sheltered by surrounding trees and clad in live green walls and FSC standard green oak its base energy requirements will be minimal. But what goes on inside will be far more important; this is a place to host reserch, project development and the coming together of people to address, debate and understand the consequesnces of climate change on the urban environment. Combining a visitor centre with meeting and seminar rooms, a laboratory and library the Poeple and Wildlife Centre will be far more than an operational base for the Wildlife Trust.
