    Situation

Glad’s House, a UK based charity, working alongside its local Kenyan partner, M.O.Y.O. (Mombasa Olympic Youth Organisation), wants to build on its existing programme for ‘street children’ by constructing a refuge centre in Mombasa, Kenya. This will provide education, plus a safe place for them to stay for between 6 – 9 months, until they are ready to go back into full-time education or else to learn a trade/ apprenticeship and then into meaningful employment. It is anticipated that the refuge will provide accommodation for up to 60 street children.
