A fresh outbreak of violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State in late August forced hundreds of thousands of people from their homes, including nearly 500,000 Rohingya Muslims who have fled to Bangladesh, fearing for their lives. Many displaced people have not received regular assistance for days, and are in desperate need of food supplies, clean water and medical care. Recent flooding is making the situation worse affecting makeshift camps and forcing people to move to other areas.

Those fleeing to the border have walked for miles, and for days on end. They have no money for food or shelter. Many mothers are escaping with newborn babies. With limited medical facilities, people are sick and at risk of serious disease. We will help vulnerable displaced people in Myanmar and Bangladesh with essential supplies – food, clean water and shelter – to survive these horrific conditions.
