    Situation

1 in 29 young people has been bereaved of a parent, sibling or someone else important to them. These deaths can shatter lives. Bereaved young people often tell us they can sometimes feel torn apart, alone and frightened and can find it difficult to express their grief. Research has shown that without good quality support, young people are more likely to develop mental health problems, find it harder to form healthy relationships and are more likely to experience long-term unemployment.

    Solution

Our Bereavement Support Practitioners help young people learn to express their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. We offer face-to-face support for young people and their families, as well as award-winning Young People's Advisory Groups. This support helps young people manage difficult emotions, grow in confidence and self-esteem and better cope with stress and adversity.
