The 7.8 magnitude quake, which struck close to Kathmandu late in the morning of Saturday 25th April, has killed more than 3,600 people in the Nepalese capital, as well as the Gorkha and Lamjun districts. As search and rescue work continues in more remote regions of those districts, it is feared that the death toll will rise. More than 6,500 people were injured in the earthquake – the most powerful to strike Nepal in more than 80 years.
