Our failure to find suitable alternative premises at an acceptable price has resulted in us signing a 3 year lease at our present home as security of tenure is paramount to our survival. We need to expand and improve the shelter so we can provide the best possible environment and care for our guests

Situation
Reduce the plight of the homeless in Islington. We have identified a growing need among the young homeless and amongst women. One size doesn’t fit all. This is as true of the chaotic homeless as of those in the housed world. SFTS is recognised in the homeless world as being particularly inclusive and sensitive to the needs of these groups.. The needs of the homeless are a safe place to eat, sleep, wash and receive mentoring and help back into the job and housing markets. They need shelter.
Solution
We can get people permanently off the streets. Not just providing beds, food and a chance to wash/launder, but providing practical help/advice on housing and jobs, getting onto rehab programmes. We provide therapy/ counselling/advice and have had some real success, but we need to expand our premises and provide better facilities for our guests and different spaces for our different user groups.
