    Situation

Vulnerable elderly people in Bangladesh are in desperate need of basic health and social care. Family members are finding it increasingly difficult to provide such care to their elderly loved ones because of their poor living conditions that add to health problems and also because of lack of time to spend at home to look after them. In the current economic environment, family members are required to go out and scratch a living as best they can to provide food for all the family.

    Solution

SWBF will provide free home care and assistance to vulnerable people aged 58 and over in such activities as personal care, preparation of meals (general and special diets), arranging physician appointments, recreational activities with trained staff . The foundation uses the same framework as it has in the UK for the last ten years to make this project successful. It has transferred many of the skills such as Admin & Mgmt, Training & Development, Research expertise to Bangladesh.
