The causes of homelessness are many and varied, they affect people in different ways. Its effect however, if not addressed swiftly, can be extremely damaging. Homelessness is a vicious circle that drags people down, compounding problems so that the longer a person is homeless the greater the challenges are to overcome. It affects people’s health both mentally and physically, impacts their relationships and removes all sense of self-worth.
At the heart of our work is an understanding that employment can address many of the issues resulting from homelessness. Being in work helps people put a roof over their heads, pay their bills, meet new friends but most importantly, it helps people rebuild their confidence. Our project is centered on confidence building and has been designed to develop both social and technical skills, build social relationships and provides a range of employment related activities.
