During enslavement, mum and child are often kept apart by their traffickers. This has a terrible effect on the parent-child bond. Children have witnessed the horrific violence experienced by their mums leaving them traumatised. These children have often been kept out of school for years. Surviving on £55 a week places huge strain on mums, leaving them unable to provide for their children. These mothers are vulnerable to retrafficking as they can feel there is no other way to support their kids
We be will helping to address the practical and emotional needs of children: Infant health: providing the essentials that babies need in the first months of life Supporting children in school: providing necessary equipment and uniform Repairing the parent-child bond: giving opportunities for mums and children to go on local trips By providing this support, we are reducing the potential for the mothers to become re-trafficked as they become more confident in their ability to cope with life.
