Type 1 diabetes is devastating lives everyday for children & adults. There is currently no cure or way of stopping it. We are funding research that could transform treatments & find ways to prevent & ultimately cure Type 1. This could change lives of people with this condition across the globe.

Type 1 diabetes is serious. It's a condition where your blood glucose level is too high because your body can't make a hormone called insulin. We all need insulin to live. Diabetes doesn't stop. It can be complicated and confusing. It can be frustrating and exhausting. It's an all-consuming life long condition. Over a long period of time people can develop serious complications such as heart attacks, strokes, eye problems and kidney failure. Only through research can we change this reality.
Solution
To meet the challenge of Type 1 diabetes we will work towards 3 research goals: Care: Improve care & self-management for people living with Type 1 today Cure: Find ways to cure Type 1 in those who have it now or develop it in the future Prevent: Stop Type 1 & its complications before they develop We're dedicated to Type 1 diabetes research, it has & is continuing to transform lives. We funded the first insulin pen, the handheld glucose meter & we're making the artificial pancreas a reality.
