    Situation

Since SATTF began eleven years ago, audiences have grown exponentially and now totally sell out. This confirms the company’s founding belief that there is an unsatisfied appetite for high quality and large, ensemble stagings of Shakespeare’s plays in intimate theatre spaces. Following the collapse of the British repertory system SATTF provides rare training opportunities for recent graduate actors. We aim to provide a unique youth theatre programme for those who might not otherwise have access.

    Solution

In 2011, SATTF will deliver two Shakespeare plays over three months, both of which are expected to play to over 20,000 people. Many acting opportunities will be offered to new and recent graduates. In addition, SATTF will build on its workshop expertise by creating a Youth Theatre Programme which will employ the company’s professional ensemble to develop students’ work. The project’s aim is also to promote accessibility through outreach-activities, touring and ensuring reasonable ticket prices.
