Larger operatic companies tend to be trapped in a limited repertory of popular operas. Smaller companies can take greater risk, and we have proved the artistic value of such a policy over many years. We also - and this is so important - help solve the problems faced by outstanding young musicians in obtaining work - the UK is blessed with enormous talent but rapidly dwindling opportunities for performance: we provide a valuable platform and support.
We provide a number of performance venues in Oxford, London and rural venues in the south. We also perform when invited at major festivals which have included Buxton and Cheltenham. We will engage a number of exceptional young musicians, identifying those whom we expect to move on to high-profile (inter)national careers. We also provide opportunities for many volunteers to engage with opera, often through direct involvement.
