With record breaking flooding in the UK and extreme weather increasing globally, isn't it time we broke the silence and started 'talking climate'? This project raises the voices of those impacted by climate change and develops innovative ways to engage new audiences.

    Situation

Climate change is a reality facing us all. Thousands were impacted by UK floods this year and millions of people globally are forced to move because of climate related disasters and this is set to grow. Yet there is a general silence on climate change which has led to inertia among the general population and politicians. Understanding complex scientific research has been a barrier to many communities engaging in climate change issues.

    Solution

We have expertise in communicating on climate change. This project will enable us to continue to gather the best research evidence and translate it into practical guides. We seek to engage people from all backgrounds to get involved in tackling climate change and have an opportunity to make different lifestyle choices. In addition, we plan to lead a coalition of refugee and migrant organisations in promoting human rights and legal protections for those forcibly displaced by climate change.
