Working with over 4,000 local children and young people, the staff and volunteers at Warrington Youth Club regularly encounter individuals who are experiencing significant disadvantage and personal difficulties. These can range from issues relating to mental health such as depression and anxiety, to familial issues such as children experiencing neglect or domestic violence, to difficulties within social and education settings such as bullying and behavioural difficulties.
Warrington Youth Club support vulnerable young people by facilitating Mentoring relationships with adult volunteers. Mentors commit to spending weekly time with the young person, providing safe and supportive environments which encourage them to talk, have fun and become more engaged with their community. In addition to one-to-one support, young people benefit from regular group sessions where they can socialise and build positive friendships with peers.
