Situation

In Kenya over half the population survives on less than $1 per day, and a secondary school education is beyond the reach of most. Starehe is the only secondary school in Kenya to offer bright but impoverished children a first class education and a home - free of charge. By providing an exceptional education and the tools for life, Starehe unlocks potential that would have otherwise gone to waste. Students thus go on to lift themselves, their families & their communities out of extreme poverty.

Solution

StareheFuture aims to provide a sustainable way forward for the Starehe Centres in Kenya so that they may continue in their proven ability to create strong leaders; give individual students a passport out of poverty - whilst enabling them to transform the life-chances of their families and communities; and to make a genuine difference to the long-term stability and prosperity of Kenya and, by extension, Africa.
