There are multiple pressures on ancient sites in the Nile Delta - climate change, population growth, agricultural expansion - research on the two ancient sites of Tell Basta and Tell Mutubis needs to be undertaken while it is still possible and before the information which they could provide on the lives of the ancient Egyptians is lost forever.
