Young people in disadvantaged communities often struggle with low self-esteem and a lack of positive opportunities. This places them at risk of making negative choices, getting into trouble with the police and going on a downward spiral. This is a particular issue over the summer holiday where funding cuts mean opportunities for young people are very limited. This project will engage young people who are the most vulnerable including those from ethnic minorities and looked after children.
Young people from disadvantage backgrounds will be able to engage in a range of positive activities keeping them healthy and involved in positive activities over the holidays. The project will particularly help young people learn new skills, develop self-esteem and team building and build their confidence whilst also ensuring they have a safe and very fun summer. It will tackle issues of gang culture and unite the community. Young people will be able to access a healthy lunch each day
