At the London Youth Choir it is our aim that no young person should be deterred from applying to join because of financial hardship. The proposed Bursary Fund will provide much needed support for those families who are on low incomes and unable to fund their child's place in one of the choirs.
It ran from 10:00 AM, 5 December 2013 to 5:00 PM, 18 December 2013

For many families, supporting their child’s musical development through LYC could not be achieved without the help of the Bursary Fund. The number of bursaries and subsidies awarded has increased by 40% since 2012. As our membership grows, we anticipate further significant increases in 2018, resulting in a higher level of funds required to support those young people most in need.
Quite simply, LYC now needs to increase the level of funding towards its Bursary Fund to ensure that our weekly training programme continues to be accessible to all. Through this Fund, we will be able to offer full and partial bursaries/training subsidies, together with financial assistance with travel, music and uniforms. This would ensure that no talented young singers are excluded from pursuing their musical aspirations based solely on financial circumstance.
