Cambridgeshire Winter Fuel Fund

Everyone aged over 60 on the electoral roll receives a Winter Fuel Payment WFP as a universal state benefit. Those who do not rely on the WFP and feel uncomfortable receiving it, can donate their WFP to The Winter Fuel Fund. The Fund supports charitable projects helping needy, elderly people.

Situation

Whilst many small voluntary groups working with vulnerable elderly adults are struggling to secure sufficient support to continue their valuable work, others in the community receiving the Winter Fuel Payment as a universal benefit wish they could put it to help others in greater need.

Solution

The Winter Fuel Fund provides a simple and effective way for those that wish to give their Winter Fuel Payment to help others in greater need. The Fund use the money received to provide much needed support to charitable projects working for our elderly and vulnerable neighbours
