The focus of Creative Break is to address the inequality with summer provisions. In our community there are plenty charities that provide play-schemes/trips for children aged 2-11, however as of yet no one has designed programmes for the thousands of high school teens that have no constructive way to spend their summer break and are often bored and not stimulated, leading to bad habits. YP in hackney aged 12-16 years need to take a break from learning and engage in creative, fun activities.
Creative Break will allow 70 YP, who don't have the means to travel abroad, a chance to join fun vocational courses during their summer break so that they feel fulfilled, are able to develop skills/healthy habits and most of all have fun. They will be able to choose an avenue that appeals to them be it floristry, cookery, wood etching, fitness or hair styling. This will give them a chance to take a break from learning, develop their creativity/skills & relax in a welcoming, healthy environment.
