The rising cost of fuel prices has led to an increase in fuel poverty in our local communities. With pensions failing to keep up with rising fuel costs, many older people are struggling to make ends meet during the cold winter months. Some pensioners have to make the incredibly difficult decision choosing between heating or eating.

By donating to Winter Warmth Fund and having your donation doubled by the Big Give, we will ensure that vulnerable, older people receive the support they need by working in partnership with Age UK organisations across Cumbria. Our application process enables us to have a full understanding of the needs and circumstances of everyone helped, and many receive guidance on other aspects of coping with their situation such as benefits advice, ways to keep their home warm and access to activities.
