    Situation

The Monteverdi Apprenticeship Programme was set up in 2007 to address the problems faced by talented young singers attempting to embark on a professional career. It recognises their financial hardship during the first years of building a career and obstacles facing them high competiveness in the musical field. It also addresses the problem of limited opportunities available to improve technical skills, getting professional advice and exposure to performances at the highest international level.

    Solution

Our musicians have the rare experience to make music at a world-class level with a multi-national group of seasoned colleagues. This leaves them exceptionally well-equipped to carry on performing and teaching at the highest level and to build international professional careers. We provide individual mentoring to each of the apprentices by our professionals, personal musical tuition from Sir John Eliot Gardiner, as well as specialised training in historically informed performance practice.
