Art education is a driving force of our programme. The Centre provides a welcoming environment where audiences can enjoy and experience art through artist led out of school workshops and courses, family days, activity guides and through ongoing projects with schools and community groups.

    Situation

“The arts have the potential to transform lives and communities and to promote social inclusion neighbourhood renewal and cultural citizenship” Sir Christopher Frayling Camden Arts Centre plays a vital role as the visual arts hub for North London. Our education programme aims to make the arts and culture more accessible to a range of local residents. This year our community work will focus on disadvantaged and harder to reach communities who do not currently participate in the arts.

    Solution

By supporting increased participation in the arts we aim to enrich lives, providing access to artists and their ideas, promoting critical thinking about the world in which we live, supporting continuing and lifelong education, encouraging families to work together and civic participation throughout Camden. We will work collaboratively with a range of local partners to create equality of opportunity and to promote social cohesion.
