    Situation

Children in deprived urban areas tend not to play outside or explore nature with their families or friends. Many have limited access to green space. Over 40% of Southall residents were born outside of the UK; many may not know about British natural heritage, native species or habitats if they are from immigrant families or are first generation.

    Solution

With our conservation education work, children will work together, learning leadership and teamwork skills, as well as know more about their local community and nature. Being outside can improve children's social interaction with one another and some children who may not learn well in the classroom thrive in an outdoor learning environment.
