Meningitis is devastating and fast-acting, and can kill or seriously disable within hours. New strains emerge over time, which means awareness of symptoms and the need to seek treatment is vital. Our Community Ambassadors help raise awareness of meningitis symptoms amongst health professionals, the public and at risk groups, and provide individual support to families affected by the disease. However, there are still communities lacking the life-saving information and vital support they need.

Through this project we aim to strengthen our Ambassador programme, enabling us to deliver awareness messages on a wider scale, and ensure that those affected by meningitis can access support locally and on an ongoing basis. We will provide current Ambassadors with regular refresher training, the most up-to-date information and the necessary support to be active and passionate representatives. We will also look to recruit more Ambassadors, particularly in areas without regional representation
