The thought of losing your sight is terrifying, but learning that your child suffers from sight loss is indescribable. Lack of knowledge and understanding often leads families to feel isolated. We work with families providing a caring and trusting environment where they can learn to deal with the difficulties of sight loss. We also work with visually impaired parents, helping them adapt to life as a visually impaired parent and working to support them with any problems they may face.
Our specialist staff are equipped to help families overcome the barriers that sight loss can cause. No parent wants to watch their child struggle; imagine how much that worry deepens when you know that child is visually impaired. Henshaws work with parents of visually impaired children to make sure that they grow up to be confident and independent adults. We also work with visually impaired parents, giving them the support they need so that they can be the parents they want to be.
