Situation

Over 800,000 children between 10 and 15 are victims of reported serious crime each year. To date we have helped over 14,000 child victims of crime and their families, including 1,735 in 2016/17. Our main beneficiaries are young victims of crime, aged 12-18, but over 50% of our referrals relate to sexual assault and domestic abuse. We offer a range of support services for the whole family, when they need it, free of charge.

Solution

The project will focus on meeting the immediate need of the young victims and families we support, whether that is: - emotional support through one-to-one counselling or Family Focused Therapy to include other family members, delivered in partnership with Relate. - specialist support through our trained ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advisers) - practical support to stabilise their current situation in relation to housing, school and care.
