GRWE Christmas Care Appeal

To raise £15,000 for our kennel and care costs in December. Our work relies on kennel spaces where dogs can receive the shelter, care and food that they need. We aim to raise £15,000 to cover these costs for the month of December, so that work can continue over Christmas and beyond.

Situation

Throughout the year, GRWE brings greyhounds and lurchers to safety, relying on our network of kennel spaces to help dogs in desperate need. Up and down the country, GRWE dogs receive shelter, food and care in kennel spaces which cost an average of £8 per space per day. Christmas does not mean a break, and indeed it often means increased demand for us to take in dogs at short notice and in desperate condition. This project aims to raise funds to cover these costs for the month of December.

Solution

This project will provide 55 kennel spaces to dogs in December, ensuring that they receive all the care, treatment and food that they need, in safe and warm kennels. We will also provide extra coats and blankets to supplement kennels’ heat lamps, ensuring dogs remain warm in a cold winter. This work will enable GRWE to provide care essential to the dogs’ survival and health, meaning that they can go on to be happily re-homed to loving, permanent homes.
