    Situation

Kickz North East improves lives in deprived areas through outreach work addressing endemic issues such as low aspirations, apathy, alcohol and substance misuse, teenage pregnancy, crime and anti-social behaviour in young people. The programme operates in local communities and in partnership with schools in Chester West, Chester-le-Street, Easington, Seaburn and Derwentside. There is a clear need for our work – 53% of people in Sunderland live in some of the most deprived areas in the country.

    Solution

Day time / outreach sessions-working alongside schools to build relationships with those that are falling out of the system and those that have displayed anti-social behaviour. Drop in centers–Young people will attend voluntarily and a range of sports will be on offer as well as being able to come and socialise with friends in a safe environment. Project night– evening work for young people that have shown a desire to learn skills through the development of new opportunities and experiences.
