Situation

We are the only organization in Wolverhampton whose support is focused solely on women and children who have suffered domestic abuse and homelessness. We support nearly 1,000 women and their children each year but there are always more who need to access our services. We want to increase our capacity to support through additional resources on our helpline, and to reduce isolation, enabling more women to make contact and get the support they need.

Solution

The project will enable us to: - Increase capacity of our 24/7 helpline - Enable access to Language Line, so we can speak to women whose first language isn't English, or spoken by staff/volunteers at The Haven This will mean: - More women and their children can move away from abuse - We can communicate with the most vulnerable and isolated women who struggle to access mainstream services - The number of women and their children who end up street homeless as a result of abuse will reduce
