The IPF is trying to prevent war and heal the wounds of war, using peaceful interventions designed by local people. It covers local peacemaking in communities before (preventative), during (mediation) or after (reconciliation) violent conflict. Local, nonviolent interventions have better outcomes than military solutions and those imposed from the outside.

Continuing 10+ years of successful grant-making, this project will make one-year grants to local, realistic peacemaking proposals from around the world. Grants will focus on repairing the harm locally and sowing seeds of peace. It will give recipients skills in conflict resolution and access to our global network of peace practitioners. Our funding has unlocked other grants and shown confidence in (very) grassroots movements, making other funders feel able to contribute after our funding ends.
