The demand upon the new Centre has increased significantly in the last two years by around 20%. Whilst we have sufficient counsellors we have insufficient space and capacity in Centre to meet the needs. Also the complexity of referrals is getting more marked and the need to equip counsellors for this more complex work is now necessary. We also want to ensure creative methods are available to appropriately meet client needs.
We will convert a store room into a therapy room and will also create a counselling room in the loft along with a creative therapies store room. We will improve the carbon footprint of the Victorian built building with superquilt insulation to increase efficiency and also increase facilities in the library with relevant materials including psycho-educational aids for clients.
